Presqu'ile Provincial Park and Canadian Canoe Museum

sunday november 17

Experience the magic of autumn on our trip to Presqu'ile Provincial Park and the newly reimagined Canadian Canoe Museum.

Our journey begins at Presqu'ile Park, where we’ll enjoy a leisurely hike along scenic trails that take us through diverse landscapes of forests, marshes, and Lake Ontario's rugged shoreline. This time of year, Presqu'ile transforms into a serene natural haven, with stunning fall colors still lingering and the chance to spot migratory birds and other local wildlife. Known for its sandy beaches, unique ecosystems, and beautiful views, Presqu'ile offers a peaceful escape into nature.

After soaking up the beauty of the park, we’ll head to Peterborough to visit the recently reopened Canadian Canoe Museum. Situated along the water’s edge, this world-renowned museum has been named one of National Geographic’s Best Cultural Spots for 2024, and for good reason! Home to over 600 canoes, kayaks, and watercraft, the museum’s new 65,000-square-foot lakefront campus offers a dynamic experience with interactive exhibits and a stunning Collection Hall that showcases the museum's entire collection.

Our group will get a guided tour that will give you a deeper appreciation for the pivotal role that canoes and kayaks have played in the history of this land. You’ll explore the Exhibition Hall’s new suite of displays, enjoy the Artisan Studio where canoe-building comes to life, and visit the library and research room filled with historical treasures.

Join us for a fun day that combines exploring nature with the rich cultural heritage of heritage waterways.
