Located along the shores of Lake Ontario, Presqu'ile offers a stunning natural setting perfect for outdoor adventures. Spend your days swimming in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Ontario, exploring the park's extensive network of hiking trails, and witnessing the spectacular migration of birds and butterflies.
What will we do? This trip is for those who would like to cook over the fire, and spend their days completely in the outdoors hiking, bird watching, swimming, admiring sunsets from the beach, and taking in the breathtaking scenery of Presquile Provincial Park.
What does the cost include? The price of your ticket includes your bus fare to and from Presquile Park. It includes your campsite for 2 nights as well as activities. There will be 3 trained guides accompanying the trip. There will be a guided hike, as well as an ample amount of free time for you to enjoy being in the woods.
What is NOT included? Participants will be expected to outfit themselves with their own gear for the camping trip. A detailed packing list will be sent out (and can be provided upon request in advance). In general, you’ll need to provide your own tent and sleeping equipment, food, utensils and cooking pots as well as clothes and personal items.
Guides: Coming with you on this adventure will be ActiveDays Trip Leaders who are eager to share their naturalistic, outdoor, and nature skills & knowledge with the group.
Amani is a nature lover and an outdoor enthusiast. She is a naturalist with a deep passion for species, ecology and our connection to the natural world. She has lead various outdoor adventures like back-country and front-country camping, hiking, canoeing, and kayaking. Amani loves sharing her knowledge with others while creating fun and wholesome learning experiences.
Jer (She/Her) has worked as a wilderness guide and outdoor educator since 2012, having guided and camped in six provinces. She has a special interest in wetlands and their inhabitants; and is thrilled to share her camp-craft and other outdoor skills with you.
Group Campground: The campsite is located very close to the shore of Lake Ontario. It is a large campsite with average privacy to accommodate groups of campers to camp near each other. Amenities include:
2.5 km sandy beach
16 km of trails and paths along shorelines and through woodlands and meadows
Vault toilets
Drinking water
Showers are only accessible at the main campground area which is 30 min walk from the group campsite.
With opportunities for wildlife watching, beachcombing, and stargazing under the night sky, this camping trip promises unforgettable moments and connections with nature and fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

DAY SCHEDULE
Saturday May 18
Pick up at 34 Asquith Ave, just north of the Yonge and Bloor Subway stop. We recommend getting there 15 minutes early to make sure you have enough time for the bus.
Arrive at the park
set up camp - tents, shelters fire pits etc.

WHAT TO BRING
A detailed packing list will be sent to you as soon as you register. However, it’s important to know that you are expected to bring all of your own gear and food. Here is a general idea of what you’ll need to bring. We highly recommend borrowing from a friend or renting from one of the gear rental providers (their contacts is included in the detailed packing list).

Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat
Reusable Water container (1L)
Weather Appropriate clothing for hiking, camping and canoeing
Sturdy Footwear
Rain gear (just in case mother nature decides to rain on us)
Cookware (things to prepare your food over the fire and eat with)
Food
Bear Barrel
Medications
Toiletries
Headlamp or flashlight

You are happy to spend 2 days away from the comfort of your own home
You’re interested in packing your food for the weekend and cooking only over a fire!
You want to steep in the beauty of Presquile Park for 2 whole days!
You are willing to be part of a team!
You are comfortable with having some free time or down time. Bring a book, journal, or go out and look for cool plants! Only about 50% of the weekend will be facilitated group activities.
You’re not a complainer! Your guides will do their best to support the group to have the best time ever! But we can’t control for the weather, or nature’s plan- if problems come up we’ll need folks to help find solutions! This might include helping to collect firewood, set up a tarp or otherwise help out the group.
You like to wake up to the sound of birds singing and the smell of camp fire!
WHAT TO EXPECT WITH ACTIVEDAYS
To us, facilitating this event is about creating an environment that you can engage with in your own way. This is your experience and everyone has their own relationship with the outdoors and their bodies. We want to meet you where you are at — you can take part in the hike, or wander off on your own adventure.
ActiveDays is also a community. This is an inclusive space to meet new people, share stories and have fun! To us, there is no better place to get to know someone than the outdoors. We all share a desire to get out, explore and move.
