Group Paddle to Ragged Falls
In this one-of-a-kind trip, join activedays as we paddle voyageur canoes to ragged falls
August 25, 2019 (7:30am - 8:30pm)
Paddle through Muskoka with ActiveDays Ontario in the beauty of late summer. See the rushing waters of Ragged Falls, have lunch by the rapids and swim in the clean, fresh water.
Small but mighty! Ragged Falls Provincial Park is located just outside the gates of Algonquin Park and sometimes gets overlooked. But for those who venture to go, this park does NOT disappoint.
We’ll start the day at Algonquin Outfitters on Oxtongue Lake and get suited up with Voyageur Canoes. From here we’ll paddle together up the lazy Oxtongue river to the falls. Accompanied by certified guides, beginners will learn some basic paddling strokes and safety techniques.
After spending a few hours exploring the trails and waters of Ragged Falls, we’ll paddle back (heading downstream this time) to meet the bus at the end of the day.

WHAT TO BRING
Bathing suit and towel (optional). You do not have to swim to take part in the day. You may get a little splashed though. There are some great places to swim all along our route!
Hat and sunscreen - we’ll be on the water under the open sun (depending on the weather), so please make sure to cover up.
LUNCH! Please pack yourself a lunch and snacks to eat along the trail. If you can pack a litter-less lunch, that’s best!
Bug spray- usually by late August the mosquitoes have calmed down. There are some deer flies though so a hat and bug spray are advisable.
Weather appropriate clothing- Please keep an eye on the weather and be prepared for a nice warm day or a slightly rainy one, or both! A light, long sleeve shirt is always great for canoeing.
Water- at least 1.5 L
Footwear that you feel comfortable getting a bit wet.
WHAT TO EXPECT WITH ACTIVEDAYS
ActiveDays is also a community. This is an inclusive space to meet new people, share stories and have fun! To us, there is no better place to get to know someone than the outdoors. We all share a desire to get out, explore and move. Once we arrive at the falls, you are more than welcome to go off and explore on your own, or stay with the group and get to know each-other.
The ActiveDays program is made possible in part by the support of our partners at Mountain Equipment Coop
