Hilton Falls Traverse
Trek across the backbone of Ontario on this escarpment adventure

Join in this one way traverse on some of Southern Ontario's most beautiful stretches of land.
We’re gearing up for a delicious hike to Hilton Falls by way of the Bruce Trail.
**NOTE: This is a 16km hike through rocky terrain to be completed in 5hours. Please only sign up if you feel you are able to complete this hike. Contact Carly@parkbus.ca if you have any questions!
The group will start off at the Speyside Resource Management Area, hike the Bruce trail and end the day exploring the trails near Hilton Falls.
This area of Ontario is situated along the Niagara Escarpment. It is brimming with gorgeous land features, great views, not to mention the chance to spot the gorgeous fall colours of Southern Ontario.
There are no bathrooms on this trail until we access Hilton Falls.
This hike is intermediate advanced if you do not feel confident in your ability to walk for over 5hrs at a moderate pace, you may consider signing up for another one of our fall hikes.

DAY SCHEDULE
9:00am - Pick-up at 34 Asquith
10:00 - Arrive Trailhead
10:15 - 12:30pm - Hike along the Bruce Trail
12:30pm - Lunch Trailside. Lunch is not provided. Please make sure to pack yourself lunch and snacks to keep you going throughout the day.
1:00pm - 3:30pm - Hike along the Bruce Trail
3:30 - 4:15 - explore at Hilton Falls
4:30pm - Depart Hilton Falls Conservation Area
5:45pm - Estimated Return to Toronto
*Do not be late for pick-up! We cannot wait for you.
WHAT TO BRING
Lunch — LUNCH WILL NOT BE PROVIDED! We will be having lunch on the trail.
Good walking shoes — The trail is in good condition. Make sure you have a pair of hiking shoes or boots that you feel comfortable in. The terrain is limestone (Slippery when wet) make sure your shoes have some good traction
Water- AT LEAST 2 LITRES
Day pack — To carry all that you need
Sunscreen and Bug-spray
Rain gear- You never know how that Canadian weather can be!
Medications — in particular if you require an epipen or inhaler.
Whatever else you need to have fun on the trail, and be entertained on the bus!
WHAT TO EXPECT WITH ACTIVEDAYS
To us, facilitating this event is about creating an environment that you can engage with in your own way. This is your experience and everyone has their own relationship with the outdoors and their bodies. We want to meet you where you are at. There may be a number of groups hiking at various speeds for you to take part in, or the option to explore o your own.
Active Days is also a community. This is an inclusive space to meet new people, share stories and have fun! To us, there is no better place to get to know someone than the outdoors. We all share a desire to get out, explore and move.
