Reading the Stories of Nature
Ever wondered what animals live in the forests you hike through? Or been curious about what creatures get up to in the winter? Do you hear people talking about deer tracks, or wonder how they know the sound of a chickadee and wish you could too be so nerdy and cool? You're in Luck! This weekend we are headed out for a long hike infused with some Wildlife Tracking- Learn to read the signs of the forests and level up your nature nerdiness!
Situated along the Niagara Escarpment, Hilton Falls conservation area is a fantastic destination in every season, just over an hour from the city! With tons of forested trails, a waterfall (that, if we’re lucky, will be a little frozen) and a roaring fire- there is something for everyone.
The group will be covering up to 10kms of trail and along the way checking out cool tracks and sign. As always, you are welcome to stick with the group- or choose your own adventure on the 16plus kms of trails at the park.
Due to COVID we are asking that all passengers be double vaccinated

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH ACTIVEDAYS
To us, facilitating this event is about creating an environment that you can engage with in your own way. This is your experience and everyone has their own relationship with the outdoors and their bodies. We want to meet you where you are at. There may be a number of groups hiking at various speeds for you to take part in, or the option to explore o your own.
Active Days is also a community. This is an inclusive space to meet new people, share stories and have fun! To us, there is no better place to get to know someone than the outdoors. We all share a desire to get out, explore and move.
