Mountains, Creeks, and Beaches … Oh My!

Nestled just an hour away from Vancouver, Golden Ears Provincial Park is one of the largest parks in our province! At over 62,000 hectares, no wonder Golden Ears houses many cherished areas for hiking, swimming, camping, canoeing, and more.

We’ll start off the day with a yoga session led by our friends from Mat Collective. We’ll soak in the fresh air while surrounded by the mountains and waters of North Beach. Afterwards, we’ll hike the Lower Falls trail where we’ll journey through hemlocks forests and get up close and personal to Gold Creek Falls. Then we’ll venture on to the East Canyon Trail, a walk with a beautiful lookout of the river below us. Name a better day than this!

We can’t think of a better way to spend the weekend other than discovering Golden Ears Provincial Park, one of the city’s favourite spots; a great destination to take in the beautiful nature we have to offer. Come with us and explore!

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH ACTIVEDAYS

To us, facilitating this event is about creating an environment that you can engage with in your own way. This is your experience and everyone has their own relationship with the outdoors and their bodies. We want to meet you where you are at — you can take part in the hike, or wander off on your own adventure.

Active Days is also a community. This is an inclusive space to meet new people, share stories and have fun! To us, there is no better place to get to know someone than the outdoors. We all share a desire to get out, explore and move.

All ActiveDays participants are required to sign a waiver. We will bring printed copies of the waiver to sign on the bus. You can find a digital copy of a sample waiver HERE

Meet Your Guide

Jessilyn Wong is B.C.’s Coordinator of the ActiveDays Program. She is a guide who enjoys introducing people to the beautiful outdoors this province has to offer! Jessilyn’s favourite Parkbus route is seeing the view of the Howe Sound from Saint Marks Summit up on Cypress Provincial Park. Her most memorable nature moment is road-tripping along the coast of Olympic National Park!
