Algonquin and Wildlife Workshop

sunday june 18

Tall Trees, Fresh Water, Loads of History

Algonquin Park is the reason many nature loving people travel to Ontario each year. Bigger than the state of Delaware this gem of Ontario hosts over 2400 lakes and hundreds of thousands of hectares of forest!

We’ll hop aboard the Parkbus shuttle to Algonquin for a day of hiking in one of the most beautiful places in Ontario. Fresh air, great views and opportunity to see wild life! This day is not to be missed.

In addition to our hike, the Ontario Parks staff will also be providing a "wildlife in parks" workshop. You'll learn everything you need to know about the park's animals, including their habitats, behaviors, and how to observe them safely and respectfully.

Bring your hiking shoes, (BUG SPRAY) camera, and adventurous attitude, and come explore the trails of Algonquin Park.

Trail Difficulty: The Track and Tower Trail is rated as moderate to difficult. It is 7.6km long and has many up and downs. There are about 100 stairs at one point which lead to a beautiful lookout over Cache Lake. We may also visit Ragged Falls on our way back if time permits.
