Algonquin Park Day Trip
Hike scenic trails in ontario’s beloved park
Aug 13 2022
Tall Trees, Fresh Water, Loads of History
Algonquin Park is the reason many nature loving people travel to Ontario each year. Bigger than the state of Delaware this gem of Ontario hosts over 2400 lakes and hundreds of thousands of hectares of forest!
We’ll hop aboard the Parkbus shuttle to Algonquin for a day of hiking in one of the most beautiful places in Ontario. Fresh air, great views and opportunity to see wild life! This day is not to be missed.
Bring your hiking shoes (BUG SPRAY) camera, and adventurous attitude, and come explore the trails of Algonquin Park.
Trail Difficulty: The Track and Tower Trail is rated as moderate to difficult. It is 7.6km long and has many up and downs. There are about 100 stairs at one point which lead to a beautiful lookout over Cache Lake. We may also visit Ragged Falls on our way back if time permits.

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH ACTIVEDAYS
To us, facilitating this event is about creating an environment that you can engage with in your own way. This is your experience and everyone has their own relationship with the outdoors and their bodies. We want to meet you where you are at — you can take part in the hike, or wander off on your own adventure.
ActiveDays is also a community. This is an inclusive space to meet new people, share stories and have fun! To us, there is no better place to get to know someone than the outdoors. We all share a desire to get out, explore and move.
All ActiveDays participants are required to sign a waiver. We will bring printed copies of the waiver to sign on the bus. You can find a digital copy of a sample waiver HERE
Meet Your Guide
Jeff is a semi-retired backwoods canoe guide. He's interested in tracking, wild foods, bushcraft, wilderness medicine, health and wellness, psychology, finance and many things nerdy. In his spare time you can find him at a Latin dance social or a martial arts club... or not find him when he's hiding out somewhere in Algonquin Park :D
