Algonquin Park: Centennial Ridges Trail

October 26, 2024

Hike scenic trails as the Forest explodes in colour!

There is nothing quite as magnificent as Ontario forests in the fall!

Centennial Ridge Trail in Algonquin Park is considered one of the most spectacular hikes in the park and the best place to witness the stunning fall colors. This 12.2 km loop is a challenging and rewarding trek, offering hikers breathtaking views of the rolling hills, lakes, and forests that make Algonquin famous. The trail climbs steeply in sections, taking you to some of the highest points in the park, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the vibrant red, orange, and yellow leaves during the fall season.

The terrain is rugged, with rocky paths, exposed ridges, and forested stretches, making it best suited for experienced hikers or those ready for a strenuous day. Along the way, you’ll pass through diverse landscapes, from dense hardwood forests to open cliffs, and may encounter wildlife like moose or deer. If you’re looking for an unforgettable hiking experience during the fall season, Centennial Ridge Trail offers a front-row seat to nature’s spectacular show.

Trail Difficulty: Difficult. Rough terrain with steep sections, rock scrambling, or other obstacles. Suitable for experienced and frequent hikers in good physical condition. Hiking shoes are a must and hiking poles are highly recommended.
