Here is a general idea of what you’ll need to bring. We highly recommend borrowing from a friend or renting from one of the gear rental providers (their contacts are included in the detailed packing list).

Here are some of the things you will need:

  • Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat

  • Reusable Water container (minimum 1L)

  • Weather-appropriate clothing for hiking, camping, and canoeing

  • Sturdy Footwear

  • Rain gear (just in case Mother Nature decides to rain on us)

  • Cookware (things to prepare your food over the fire and eat with)

  • Food

  • Bear Barrel

  • Medications

  • Toiletries

  • Headlamp or flashlight

THIS TRIP IS RIGHT FOR YOU IF:

  • You enjoy the idea of sleeping in a tent for 2 nights

  • You like seeing the stars every night before bed:)

  • You are happy to spend 2 days away from the comfort of your own home

  • You’re interested in packing your food for the weekend and cooking only over a fire!

  • You want to steep in the beauty of Algonquin Park for 2 whole days!

  • You are willing to be part of a team!

  • You are comfortable with having some free time or downtime. Bring a book, or journal, or go out and look for cool plants! Only about 50% of the weekend will be facilitated by group activities.

  • You’re not a complainer! Your guides will do their best to support the group to have the best time ever! But we can’t control for the weather, or nature’s plan- if problems come up we’ll need folks to help find solutions! This might include helping to collect firewood, set up a tarp or otherwise help out the group.
