See the Night Sky Like Never Before!

IMPORTANT: as with all celestial events, we cannot guarantee viewing conditions and presence of visible meteors. While all efforts are made to maximize viewing possibilities, please be prepared for the possibility that weather conditions make it impossible to see the sky. Unfortunately we cannot provide refunds in that case.

On August 12 we will be witnessing the breathtaking Perseid Meteor Shower! In community, we will be looking at stars planets and traveling meteors through space!

Experience this extraordinary event in the first ever night sky preserve in the world! Torrance Barrens.

Departing Toronto at 8pm and arriving back to the city at 3:30am, we will have the opportunity to experience the Night Sky Like Never Before!

We will not be providing any star viewing equipment so please make your personal arrangements to bring what you need to see the stars.

NIGHT SCHEDULE 

8:00pm: Pick-up at 34 Asquith Ave ( Close to Bloor and Young Subway)

10:30pm: Arrive at Torrance Barrens Dark-Sky Preserve

1:00am Depart to pick up Location

3:30am: Return to Pick up location

WHAT TO BRING

DINNER! and snacks. Please make sure to bring something that you can eat on the side of the trail.

Water (at least 1.5L)

Hat, Bug spray,

Bug net

HEADLAMP/FLASHLIGHT

Blankets

Chairs

Medications

Weather appropriate clothing- As we know, springtime in Canada can be all over the place. Please keep an eye on the weather and be prepared for a nice warm night or a slightly chilly one, or both!

Whatever else you need to have fun :)

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH ACTIVEDAYS

To us, facilitating this event is about creating an environment that you can engage with in your own way. This is your experience and everyone has their own relationship with the outdoors and their bodies. We want to meet you where you are at — you can take part in the start watching, or wander off on your own adventure.

ActiveDays is also a community. This is an inclusive space to meet new people, share stories and have fun! To us, there is no better place to get to know someone than the outdoors. We all share a desire to get out, explore and move.
