Dundas Valley and Maple Festival at Westfield Heritage Village

Sunday March 2

Looking for the perfect way to enjoy winter before it melts away? Join us for a scenic hike through Dundas Valley, where we might even spot a couple of frozen waterfalls!

Nestled in the Niagara Escarpment, Dundas Valley is a gorgeous natural area with forests and picturesque trails.
After the hike and a short commute, we’ll warm up at Westfield Heritage Village for Maple Fest, where you can watch fresh maple syrup being made, stroll through charming historic buildings, and take in the sweet smell of bubbling sap at the sugar shack. Step back in time and witness the traditional art of maple syrup making with live demonstrations at both a modern sugar shack and a historic boiling site. Follow the Maple Trivia Trail, explore maple-themed exhibits, and enjoy the cozy, historic atmosphere as volunteer interpreters bring the past to life in beautifully restored heritage buildings.

Of course, no maple festival is complete without a delicious pancake feast! Treat yourself to a classic maple syrup-covered breakfast (not included in your ticket). Before we leave, stop by the General Store & Gift Shop for some sweet maple treats to take home.

Come experience winter, history, and maple goodness all in one day.

Difficulty: Easy, flat trails suitable for all hikers.

To us, facilitating this event is about creating an environment that you can engage with in your own way. This is your experience and everyone has their own relationship with the outdoors and their bodies. We want to meet you where you are at — you can take part in the group hike, or spend your time exploring nature on your own.

Active Days is also a community. This is an inclusive space to meet new people, share stories and have fun! To us, there is no better place to get to know someone than the outdoors. We all share a desire to get out, explore and move.

All ActiveDays participants are required to sign a waiver. We will send a digital copy via email. You can find a digital copy of a sample waiver HERE
