Nature Walk

Sunday March 3

Forest therapy and Nature walk

Carolynne Crawley (from Msit No'kmaq and Turtle Protectors) will guide an engaging walk to create opportunities for participants to connect deeper with themselves, each other, and with the Earth while including the concept of etuaptmumk (two-eyed seeing). She will share ways of how to be in a more healthy and reciprocal relationship with the Earth, along with sharing the many health benefits of spending time with Nature.  Carolynne will offer various sensory experiences and share stories to connect with the many plant and animal relatives living in the area.

After the walk and lunch, we will continue exploring the park with an ActiveDays guide, admiring scenic views and diverse landscapes at a leisurely pace.

The Dundas Valley spreads out into Lake Ontario and is part of the Niagara Escarpment World Biosphere. There is a 450 million-year-old geologic history here and we will be walking through the biodiverse Carolinian Forest that can be found nowhere else in Canada.

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH ACTIVEDAYS

To us, facilitating this event is about creating an environment that you can engage with in your own way. This is your experience and everyone has their own relationship with the outdoors and their bodies. We want to meet you where you are at — you can take part in the hike, or wander off on your own adventure.

ActiveDays is also a community. This is an inclusive space to meet new people, share stories and have fun! To us, there is no better place to get to know someone than the outdoors. We all share a desire to get out, explore and move.

All ActiveDays participants are required to sign a waiver. We will send you a digital copy via email. You can find a digital copy of a sample waiver HERE
