Embark on an unforgettable group hike through the picturesque landscapes of Balsam Lake Provincial Park! Located in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes region, this park offers a plethora of trails and natural beauty to explore.
Balsam Lake offers a number of trails that include: Lookout Trail – 2.1 km (1.5 hours) with a panoramic view of the surrounding area, Lorie’s Link Trail – 1.7km (45 minutes) passing fields of wildflowers and a pine plantation, Woodland Trail – 4.2 km (2 hours) – a moderate forest trek with both natural and pioneer highlights and Pond Loop Trail – 1.8km (45 minutes) with a view of the pond.
As we traverse the trails, we'll have the opportunity to admire the park's diverse flora and fauna. The park is home to an array of tree species, including majestic oaks, towering pines, and vibrant maples. Keep an eye out for native wildflowers, such as trilliums and violets, that paint the forest floor with bursts of color.
After our hike, we can unwind at the stunning Balsam Lake. With its sparkling waters and sandy beaches, it provides the perfect setting for relaxation and enjoyment. Take a refreshing dip in the lake's clear waters or bask in the sun on the beach, creating cherished memories with your fellow hikers. Canoes, kayaks and paddle boats are available to rent at the park for those who want to experience the park at their own pace.

DAY SCHEDULE
8:00 am - Pick up at 34 Asquith Ave
9:30 - 9:45am - Arrival to Balsam Lake Provincial Park. Washroom Break
10:00 - 12:00pm - group hiking
12:00 - 12:30pm - Lunch break trailside (Lunch is not included. Please pack a lunch and water for yourself)
12:30 - 2:30pm - continuing group hiking
3:00 - 4:30pm - afternoon swimming/relaxing at the beach/self-guided paddling activities
5:00 pm - Depart the park
